On the roof of the world
Half day hike in the Nature Park of San Bartolo
In May and June, the itinerary takes us through the San Bartolo Natural Park, surrounded by the rich yellow of the flowering broom, but always along the cliffs overlooking the sea, further and further up, until we finally reach our destination: the Roof of the World, which rises far above the Romagna coast and offers us a unique panorama at any time of the day, from sunrise to sunset.
Description

From the beach of Vallugola, the path that goes up to the cliff, through a forest, offers us a view of the blue sea from time to time. After about an hour and a half we reach the highest point of the San Bartolo Natural Park: the "roof of the world". To the east we have a unique view of the sea and the northern coast of Romagna, which on dry days reaches Ravenna; to the west, towards the interior, we have a wonderful view of the hills and castles of the surrounding area, from nearby Gradara Castle to San Marino and Mount Carpegna.

From the roof of the world, a short stretch of asphalt leads to Castel di Mezzo and on to the castle of Fiorenzuola, a medieval village called in Dante Alighieri's "Divine Comedy" as well as the nearby perfectly preserved castle of Gradara.
